Impact The UNESCO Chair in Labor and Solidarity Society organized a symposium on “Inequalities, Rights and Public Politics”. The event involved researchers and professors in the fields of politics and social practices participated in the symposium, in addition to graduate students and members of NGOs. The Chair also collaborated in the evaluation of Social Partnership Net, a state government program administered by the State Secretariat for Justice and Social Development in Rio Grande do Sul and UNESCO’s offices in Porto Alegre. III. Forthcoming activities The Chair will intervene in monthly meetings on Studies about Solidarity Economy, an international symposium on the legacies of 1968 (The Year 1968: Permanencies and Changes) and organize a second meeting on social and solidarity economy in Argentina. The Chair will develop its partnership with Universidad Nacional de Gral, Sarmiento, Argentina and the Institute of Social Sciences in Holland. The publication of a book A Outra Economia (The Other Economy) is currently in progress.
